Finn Shirt

A little friend of Finn’s gave him an f shirt, which he has loved. He actually calls it his Hagen shirt because it was his friend Hagen that gave it to him on his first birthday. He is bursting out of it, it is size 12-18 months, so for his third birthday, my mother-in-law made him a new one! Isn’t it darling? Thank you Bene!!!

Windy Beach

All the wind we have been having this week makes me think of our trip to Nantucket this past fall. A quiet getaway for me and my hubby! I can’t wait to return an linger on this beach a little longer. The winds were gusting at 40-50 mph in these shots. Though we’ve been to Nantucket more than a few times, this was the first time we made it to the beaches, and I was awestruck by their simple beauty!

East End Cupcakes

Finn says joyfully, I like cake! And what better way to celebrate his birthday than to order some East End Cupcakes, of course! Red Velvet, Vanilla Vanilla, and a few Chocolate with Salted Caramel frosting. YUM! As I write this post, it is difficult not to run to the fridge to eat one for breakfast! If you are in the Portland area, check them out, at their darling shop in the Old Port! You won’t be disappointed! To put it more clearly, Warning: these cupcakes are highly addictive! Proceed with caution!

Palate Pleasing Treat

To wrap up my sister’s baby shower, I’d like to share this very cool idea. Passed palate cleansers! They aren’t just for big French sit-down dinners anymore.  I had both a savory and sweet table, and needed a good seque between the two. I hoped to have sorbet passed and my event team came up with the idea of serving it on spoons. Just before gifts, our caterer Valery Scott of Basil Catering passed antique spoons from New England Vintage Rentals with Raspberry Champagne Sorbet from The Gelato Fiasco. It was so pretty, unique, and a big crowd pleaser!  As Jillian and I found ourselves saying so often when planning this event, this idea is SO NOW!
